From Harvest to the Holidays at LLWC! 🍷🎄

With a blink of the eye, we’re headed from harvest into the holidays! Each year the holidays seem to sneak up on us since they fall right after harvest. As winemakers, it’s an exciting time to talk about the newest vintage now tucked into barrels, reflect on the past year, and get excited for all the new wine things ahead in 2026.

This year’s harvest started early, with our first pick of Syrah on 9/5. Our final pick was Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot on 10/17 making our final press of the season on 10/29, just in time for Halloween fun. This year we brought in 47 tons with 13 varietals and one new wine, Grenache! I’m (Sarah) happy to report that I successfully shoveled out every single harvest bin, helped with every press, and ran labs on every varietal picked. I keep telling Mark that I’ve promoted myself to Assistant Winemaker, leaving my Assistant TO THE winemaker title behind. He may disagree  ;)

With harvest behind us, we’re focusing on Holiday Wine Fest Weekend and our newest releases, 2022 Carmenere, 2022 Path of the Gods (new Super Tuscan red blend, click here for our story about the name) and this weekend’s release of the 2023 Gewurztraminer Reserve. As always, these 3 wines took home top awards, with Path of the Gods winning a Platinum medal just last week. Make sure to visit us this weekend; it’s stellar time for wine, and we’ve got you covered for all your holiday needs.

Bubbly Mushroom Corks – Raising Money for 2nd Harvest Food Bank

we're partnering with OutWest Wines & Ciders and The Tipsy Vine to gather donations for the 2nd Harvest Food bank. Pick out a Bubbly Mushroom Cork, donate $2 (or more) and grab a bag of mushroom chocolates. We'll match an additional dollar for each mushroom sold! (cash donations only).

And we’re extending our giving into December. Each week we’ll be featuring a non-profit with a portion of sales of one of our wines will be donated to that charity. It’s a great way to stock up on your favorite wines while giving back. Keep an eye on our social media for details.

LWC in the Press

We’ve been lucky enough to be featured in a few articles the past few months. Mark was interviewed for an article in Wine Business Monthly about the rising costs in winemaking; you can find that article here. And we were interviewed by freelancer, Jeff Bogle, who wrote an article on how to pair cats with wine for Wine Enthusiast. Since Somm is our deserning rescue cat, we were clearly the right people to be interviewed. You can find that article here.

Somm (our discerning rescue cat) Update

And speaking of Somm… if you’ve been following along with our social media stories, Somm had an accident in the back yard a few weeks ago. Unsupervised for about 5 minutes, he came running in only to be missing part of his tail! It’s been traumatic for all of us, but after enduring the cone of shame for 2 weeks while being kept inside, he’s back to his normal self – receiving his daily showers, being even more discerning about his treats, and begging to go outside every chance he gets. The Vet said he was the perfect patient and the shorter tail shouldn’t slow him down. We’ve been complimenting his new look, and he’s been sporting it like a champ. He'd love if you'd buy a bottle of Somm's Select to help with his vet bill ;)

Hours
Fridays, Noon – 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays & Sundays, Noon – 5:00 p.m.
Please no outside food.

Cheers!
Mark & Sarah
